Words from the Designer:
The original Edge 540 profile was the result of my desire to learn 3D
aerobatics at a very reasonable cost using standard radio equipment and readily
available .40 - .46 size sport motors. After flying many fun fly aircraft on the
market I decided to design my own based on the popular Edge 540, which has
proven itself at all levels of aerobatic competition. The
large wing area, thick aspect ratio, and tail design allow this aircraft to
perform anything you can imagine: elevators, harriers, super fast waterfalls,
knife edge spins, positive and inverted climbing flat spins, and of course rock
solid hovers and torque rolls.

New 2-Piece Wings & Fiberglass Tubed Fuselage
Now
available in White Base Coat Scheme:

This newest Edge 540 Version
3 incorporates all the latest construction techniques as well as the trademark
OMP two-piece wing attachment technique. Aerodynamic improvements from the
original Edge Profile are also incorporated to make this new profile even better
than before. The OMP Edge has always been taunted as a great 3d trainer
for those on a limited budget and now that package is even better. The
fuse uses the proven durability of the fiberglass tube yet retains the balsa
sheeted frame for stiffness with no tail flutter. The two piece wings can
be permanently glued to the fuse for extra stiffness or simply bolted on or
removed for easy transport. The new Edge 540 V3 makes the perfect profile
for 3D training and the experienced pilot as well.
I
had never flown a large-scale aircraft or performed 3D aerobatics before
designing this profile and yet learned to perform all these maneuvers with this
aircraft in a short period of time. I hope you will enjoy it as much as I have.
